How many of us can truly say we celebrate people’s success whole heartedly.
I will be honest you, I don’t think ever did, however following some big changes in my life and being more open minded, I began to see the full benefits of truly supporting others’ success. I had a beautiful opportunity to go down to Cambridge for my friend’s graduation, (here is a little background story for you- I hadn’t seen my friend Tomi in about 10 years, though we always kept in contact throughout, but it just felt super weird that we had gone such a time apart). Back to the post, so my friend was graduating with Masters in Corporate Law for University of Cambridge, I so proud of her and I knew hard she worked, so I just had to be there to celebrate the moment with her. In my first sentence I asked how many of us can truly say we celebrate people’s success? Well if you don’t, let me change your mind with these five reasons on why you need to celebrate other’s success: Securing a future ally- The truth is, if you genuinely care about other’s success, their loyalty to you grows. This is so important to understand, just imagine in the future when you need that persons support in order to succeed; a person who appreciated you celebrating them in their time will definitely be there for you. You acquire wisdom- Did you know that when you participate in the process of another person’s success, you learn a lot vicariously through them. There is a saying, “learn from other people’s mistakes”; well we should also learn from other people’s successes. You gain integrity - It is very hard for people to trust these days, but if you want your friends or others to trust you, you have demonstrate your friendship by helping them succeed and also celebrate their success when there is nothing in it for you. You develop new relationships- When people the support you show and how you celebrate ones success, they in turn want to be friends with you, give you advice, and even go ahead as to supporting you too. (I met my friend’s parents for the first time, and my goodness I learnt so much from them, especially who is Senior Advocate in Nigeria, he gave me so much legal and life advice (simply treasures). You feel a sense of purpose- I saved the best benefit till last; honestly I can’t describe the true purpose of living life that you feel when you celebrate others. So let’s share the positive, the whole positive and nothing but the positive. I hope you guys learnt something from today’s post, PLEASE DON’T THINK YOU NEED TO CELEBRATE PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THE BENEFITS, BE GENUINE AND HEART LEAD! I am so proud of my baby girl, watch the same, she is going to do amazing things. The graduation was really nice, the sun was shining hard on us, and Cambridge is a pretty nice city. Tomi also has a blog and you should definitely check it out. Blog- www.tomilolaescada.com Instagram- @thatescadagirl P.S Tomi took the pictures for my outfit, she did well, thanks boo!
